Lifelong Staffordite Dr. David Mordasky was born in 1954 to the late John Mordasky Sr., who served 24 years as State Rep for CT’s 52nd district. Growing up on a farm under the tutelage of a dedicated veteran and public servant taught David two things: a strong work ethic and the value of public service and the importance of community involvement. David lives in Stafford where he and his wife, Judith, founded Stafford Veterinary Center. Today, David and his family continue to serve the community.
Lori Fortuna is actively engaged around the community, serving as a parent stakeholder in education, a board member for Ben Bronz Academy, and volunteering for school and church initiatives. She has a background in HR management and coaching, she also runs her own coaching business. For 20 years Lori values Stafford as her home. Additionally, she's served on multiple boards and committees, including the Stafford Dems and the Stafford Board of Education. Lori's dedication to community service is grounded in her belief in the importance of volunteering and its ability to foster connections and solve issues.
A lifelong resident of Stafford, Cheryl Wilson Maynard embodies a steadfast commitment to Democratic principles and community engagement. With more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry with a proven record of leadership and effective business management she brings valuable insights and capabilities to all her endeavors. She joined the DTC with a goal to leave things better than we found them for future generations. As past chair of the Stafford Arts Commission, she actively participates in her community at local activities with friends and family.
Shelley H. West was a first-time candidate vying for a position on the Stafford Board of Finance. With a degree in Accounting & Business Administration, Shelley has amassed over 35 years of experience in banking & financial management., Shelley is well-equipped to navigate the intricacies of the Board of Finance. Her intimate connection to Stafford, having been born and raised here, coupled with her family's long-standing presence in the community, underscores her deep-rooted passion for the town. With her wealth of experience and genuine commitment, Shelley aims to provide well-informed financial guidance for Stafford's future prosperity and is the active Treasurer of the DTC.
Judith Mordasky, originally from New Britain, made significant strides in corporate America as Vice President of Operations at New England Clock Company in the 1970s. In 1985, she moved to Stafford due to her relationship with Dr. David Mordasky. Over 40 years, she transformed Stafford Veterinary Center, increasing staff from 6 to 72. She also founded Willington Veterinary Center and contributed to various community organizations. Judith, now a mother of three, still manages Stafford Veterinary Center and remains active in local politics and community service.
